Nationalism

Nationalism is only reinforced when a person comes into contact with another person that is of different culture. For example, the rise of Mexican nationalism was never strong until the Spanish came and imposed their way of living onto them. But, before that, Mexicans never saw themselves as a united body, they only saw each other as a member of a certain tribe.
